about me

189Hi, I’m Lori. I’m jumping back in the blogging saddle and will keep riding (writing, ha!) as long as I have something to say …

“Will she ever stop, then?” You ask.

“Probably not.” I say.

With that out of the way, let me share a bit about who I actually am. I’m a California girl turned Coloradoan. I’m married to Aaron (22 years!) and have three girls, ranging in age from 14 to 19. Those are really big numbers. Also, by putting specific numbers here on my about page that means I’m going to have to remember to update this page every year, which just might not happen, so just know that this info was current for 2020.

What else? Oh! I love to bake, in fact I started a bakery (and closed it) in the past 4 years. It was fun but A LOT of work. Also, an opportunity came up for me to work with this amazing PR firm, from home, so I did that instead. Don’t worry, I still bake, you just don’t have to pay me to do it anymore.

Aaron and I love to spend time outdoors: ultralight backpacking, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, car-camping with the girls, traveling together. Current binge watching situation (see 2020 reference above in case I don’t change this very often): Gilmore Girls, The Good Place, The 100, anything with Jason Bateman, Workaholics (this one will have you questioning my salvation, but Aaron and I watch it sometimes because it is hilarious. But pretty rough. But so funny), Downton Abbey (we actually finished watching this one but it was so good, I like to think it lives in my heart, and my current binge-list, forever) and The Great British Bake Off, duh.

Fun Fact: Hablo Espanol.

I also LOVE therapy. Best thing that’s happened to me in the past 5 years was finding Charity. Turns out, having someone to process life with that really understands the dynamics of relationships is super important. If you spend more than 5 seconds with me, chances are I’ll be asking if you’ve found a therapist yet. Seriously, it’s that great.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Jim Martin says:

You are also the most amazing daughter any father could have. To see what a wonderful mother and wife you turned out to be really shows God’s power. I think of the fun that all of us had with hunting, softball, traveling, and even watching you deal in your own unique way with Osa!! I love you, honey!!!

  2. Lori, Cheryl sent me this post. Awesome I want to subscribe to your blog so I can read your stuff when it comes out. As I was reading this last one “Negative Ridiculous” I thought, “Lori might enjoy THE TEMPORARY TYPIST.” I honestly don’t mean to be shamelessly promoting this, but I do think you’d enjoy the book. Go to Amazon or Lulu.com, or http://thetemporarytypist.com. Anyway, you have a great voice and I hope you keep this up! I look forward to the next installment!

    • oh hooray! I am go glad you found me here! I will definitely check out the Temporary Typist! Love you guys! Wait, one more sentence ending with an exclamation point! : )
